At The Arc Wayne of Newark, NY, a Human Services Agency, we are currently hiring a full-time Payroll, Compliance & Safety Associate.  This is a multi-faceted administrative role that combines manufacturing/industrial expertise in payroll, safety standards and contracts to ensure that business and employment activities are in compliance with OPWDD, OSHA, SSA, DOL and all other applicable regulations to ensure that financial resources are monitored and sustained, while accurately entering and overseeing payroll information related to the individuals supported.

The starting wage for this position is $19.47/hr, with a schedule of Monday through Friday (8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) with flexibility to meet program needs. A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A PAYROLL, COMPLIANCE & SAFETY ASSOCIATE

In this role, you will be ultimately responsible for conducting accurate and timely participant time studies and data entry relating to consumer payroll, will conduct prevailing wage studies providing the information to the Operations Manager, and will create Contract Notices. You will ensure that The Arc Wayne complies with OSHA, OPWDD, DOL, and other pertinent requirements, informing the Operations Manager of any possible non-compliant areas while recommending solutions. You will also provide support for quote development; this may include performance of time studies and/or recommendations regarding manpower, materials, tools or equipment. You will conduct safety training, i.e. forklift certification for staff and consumers, as well as the required number of fire drills as per OPWDD regulations, and will complete all supporting documentation, while providing supervision in-house or at offsite locations as needed. In addition, you will chair the Agency Safety Committee, and will perform additional tasks as requested by the Operations Manager and/or the Associate Executive Director of Day Services.  

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Must possess the following education/credentials:

  • Associate's degree and three years' experience in an industrial atmosphere
  • Other combinations of equivalent or greater education and experience may be considered

Experience:

  • Basic computer skills required
  • Excellent communications skills both verbal and written required

The position requires a valid NYS Driver's license which meets agency standards and acceptable results of all background checks including a criminal conviction background check.
