Brooklyn, NY. Saint Ann's School, an independent, non-sectarian day school, seeks candidates for a Spanish Language Teacher & Chair of the Romance Languages Department position to plan & teach Spanish lang lessons to various groups & lang levels from Grades 7th to 12th; dvlp class materials; introduce & practice vocabulary & colloquial expressions w/ students; assign homework; supv & mentor new teachers; draft & proofread anecdotal new teachers' reports & checklists; draft periodic evaluations of dept members; engage in curriculum dsgn; determine the scope & sequence of the curriculum; hold wkly dept meetings; research new pedagogical materials for classroom instruction; manage daily oper'ns & logistics using Google Suite & Veracross s/ware. Must have Bachelor's deg in Latin-American, Iberian & Latino Cultures, or Spanish Lang; 1 yr of exp. as a Spanish Teacher, Adjunct Professor in Spanish, Teaching Adjunct or Graduate Teaching Fellow or Asst; 6 mths of exp. dvlpg course syllabus or curriculum & instructional or class materials, assessing students' performance through quizzes & drafting periodic evaluations; 6 mths of exp working w/ students of different ages, levels of proficiency, & learning styles; 3 credits of college coursework in Critical Pedagogy & Lang Learning; 3 credits of college coursework in Sociolinguistics Perspectives of Lang Bilingualism.
