Covington & Burling LLP seeks a Senior Associate in New York, NY to work directly w/ partners & clients in connection w/ federal tax audits & administrative appeals, incl formulating audit strategy, preparing written protests & making presentations to IRS Appeals challenging proposed audit adjustments, & negotiating resolutions of complex tax disputes. Job reqs JD or LLM, active state bar membership in good standing of at least 1 US jurisdiction & 5 yrs in any job title involving exp as an atty specializing in tax law at an international law firm or the IRS, incl 2 yrs of exp in tax controversy, audit, & litigation.
