Project Engineer
Salary: $96,138.00 per Year
Permanent position, Full Time, M-F, 40 hours per week.
Location: New York, New York
Job description:
• Assist project teams with daily and long-term project tasks, ensuring smooth progression and adherence to schedules.
• Manage administrative tasks as assigned by the project manager, including project activities, report creation, and ensuring problems are resolved promptly.
• Direct and participate in surveying to lay out installations or establish reference points, grades, or elevations to guide construction.
• Compute load and grade requirements, water flow rates, or material stress factors to determine design specifications.
• Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety standards.
• Obtain and analyze proposals from subcontractors for potential changes and change orders, coordinating these with field superintendents and subcontractors.
• Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project feasibility and budget planning.
• Manage all other pertinent logs, such as long lead items, insurance, permits, and inspections, and coordinate with the estimating and project team to buy out the Construction Trades.
• Plan and design transportation or hydraulic systems or structures, using computer-assisted design tools such as AutoCAD.
• Prepare and present public reports, bid proposals, and environmental impact statements, ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, and governmental regulations.
Education and Experience Required:
- Master of Science in Engineering or foreign equivalent
- 5 months of experience in the job offered or as Site Engineer in construction and /or design-related fields or related.
