Job Description

Our preschool builds the solid academic foundation children need for future success.

We are currently looking for a caring and energetic Preschool Assistant Teacher to join our team. Responsibilities:

  • Create, manage and participate in a variety of learning environments and activities that provide opportunities for children to develop to their fullest potential and achieve their learning objectives.
  • Assist the Lead Teacher to create and deliver lesson plans, implement school curriculum, and assess developmental needs of students.
  • Maintain a healthy and safe environment.
  • Communicate positively with students, parents and staff.
  • Participate collaboratively and professionally with other teachers and staff to promote the general well being of the school, and collective/individual interest of its staff and student body.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Must meet New York state requirements.
  • Associate's degree in Early Childhood, Child Development or related field OR Child Development Associate credential or other Office- recognized credential specific to the preschool development.
  • One-year experience related to caring for children OR 9 college credits in Early Childhood, Child Development or a related field, with a plan of study leading to a: Child Development Associate credential; Or Associate's Degree in Early Childhood, Child Development or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.

 

*Salary dependent on experience and level of education.

COA Management reserves the right to review all associates' experience, education, and position to determine if additional pay is warranted above the minimum standards listed above.  New hires will be subject to the above minimum standards as well as education and experience according to an established matrix.  COA reserves the right to change or modify the above standards, its pay rates and practices as it deems appropriate.
