Catholic Health Services of Long Island (CHS) is an integrated health care delivery system with some of the region's finest health and human services agencies. CHS includes six hospitals, three skilled nursing facilities, a regional home nursing service, hospice and a multiservice, community-based agency for persons with special needs. Under the sponsorship of the Diocese of Rockville Centre, CHS serves hundreds of thousands of Long Islanders each year, providing care that extends from the beginning of life to helping people live their final years in comfort, grace and dignity.

The Senior Business Analyst will provide direct support to the Director of Financial Planning while also helping to train and develop junior level staff. The primary function will be the development and review of analyses related to the operational and financial performance of clinical practices, clinical service lines and hospital based programs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supports the operational and financial performance of CHS Physician Enterprise practices by producing monthly productivity reports and validating accuracy of data provided.
  • Provides back up and support for Business Analyst staff as needed.
  • Generates budget reports and P&L documents upon request.
  • Assists with data collection and organization for prospective practices.
  • Scans and photocopies documents as needed.
  • Utilizes outside sources, such as Crimson and HANYS, to research and produce physician productivity reports for existing and prospective CHS physicians.
  • Actively responds to questions and queries, works to reinforce best practices and methods, and provides follow-up support.
  • Maintains timely, productive, collegial level of collaboration with staff in keeping with the overall mission of CHS.
  • Assists with special projects as required.
  • Manages multiple tasks and projects.
  • Assists with the development and training of other team analysts

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required (Business/Finance preferred)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel required (familiarity with pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
  • Microsoft Word required
  • Microsoft Access preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • 3-5 years financial experience required. Healthcare finance experience preferred.
